Danord Baptiste received his business management degree from the University of Fondwa in the summer of 2019. He was not on scholarship for his first 2 years of study and he could not afford to pay for room and board. He lived at home and walked 4 hours to get to school each day. The Raising Haiti Foundation (RHF) met Danord when he was starting in his 3rd year and provided a full scholarship with room and board for his last two years of study.
In August 2019 Danord began a 6-month microcredit internship, sponsored by RHF. After the internship he was hired as the microcredit agent in one of the 3Legs communities, initiating a new RHF sponsored microcredit program that provides loans to women farmers. He has his university degree, received post-graduate training, and has a well paying job, which provides a valuable service in one of the 3Legs communities, improving the income of participants an average of 25%.
