RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Scholarship INITIATIVE

Sponsor a gifted student from one of Haiti’s 570 Rural Communities

One of our foundation’s primary current focuses which will gain momentum through the Advocacy Program and 3 Legs Project is the Rural Development Scholarship Initiative (RDSI) . The University of Fondwa provides three undergraduate degrees (Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine and Business Management and Administration).  Father Joseph envisions three students from each of the 570 rural communities studying each of the three disciplines and returning to their home communities to apply those new skills. The scholarship initiative will attract donors for these scholarships.

Raising Haiti Foundation will work closely with APF-Haiti in concert with each local communities’ organizational body to identify the brightest, merit-based scholars and to track the students’ engagement. Much groundwork has already been laid at the organizational level and we plan to begin by launching Phase 1 of the initiative in early January.
